Hi - welcome to my website and thanks for reading!
I am a yoga and holistic massage therapist, and a fan of life.
I specialize in helping people relax and connect to their bodies as a means to access their truth and what they most desire. I teach practical skills that empower people to reveal balance, joy and authenticity in their daily lives and open up to their full potential in the world.
I do this through the experience of conscious movement and breathing, deep rest, meditation, massage, intuitive energy-based healing, mindfulness and self-enquiry.
My work is particularly beneficial to people going through transitions or challenging circumstances in life and those dealing with stress, anxiety, depression or fatigue.
I propose individual one-to-one sessions, weekly group classes, workshops, and retreats, and share my thoughts and experiences through the Be Bright Blog.
Some more about me and my training
Originally from Ireland, Switzerland has been my home since 2000. Trekking, mountain biking, adventure travel and spending time in nature are my passions, and yoga is a way of life. My work and interests have led me to experience many different places, peoples, and philosophies of life and these have deeply touched me. My personal journey has led me to be inspired, healed and revealed through yoga and body work.
I am a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-200) with the International Yoga Alliance and a holistic massage therapist qualified in Switzerland. I also hold a BA in nature-based recreation management and an MSc in International Environment and Development and spent 15 years working on nature conservation, national park management and social equity. I was even a white-water rafting guide for a few years!! For more than a decade I worked for an international nature conservation organisation (IUCN) focusing on sharing knowledge and influencing policy at the global level. Sharing my time between yoga, massage and nature conservation for a number of years, in 2012 I decided to follow my heart and dedicate my time completely to yoga and massage therapy.
I have been practicing yoga for over 10 years and teaching since 2009. I am indebted to my first teacher Jessica Magnin at O2 Yoga, who to guided and inspired me through the 14 months of transformational teacher training. I continue to study mainly with Judith Hanson Lasater, as well as with many other great yoga teachers and practitioners including Seane Corn, Suzanne Sterling, Hala Khouri, Rod Stryker, Martin Kirk, Jean Lechim and Peter Clifford. I am certified by Judith Hanson Lasater as an Advanced Relax and Renew(R) Trainer in Restorative Yoga; a teacher of Yoga for Kids, trained by Rainbow Kids Yoga; and local leader for 'Off the Mat, Into the World'.
My massage journey started with basic training in 2004 and then a massage therapy diploma in 2010 under the guidance and inspiration of Cathy Tourinan at Ecovie. Since then I have continued my training with Louka Leppard, in floor-based Tula massage, François Nadler, in massage therapy, and with Arno L'Hermitte and Itzhak Helman of the Sunshine Network in Traditional Thai Yoga Massage. I am also a certified practitioner in Reiki I and II.
I am continuing my training at present in Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology with Dr. Jean-Yves Henry.
In combining all my experiences and training, I aim to help people realize their full potential and find a sense of well-being, inner calm, compassion, authenticity and purpose in their daily lives.
Through deep relaxation healing and transformation occurs. Through mindfulness our hearts open to the world and the world opens to us.
