Peeking out from the comfort of confinement (part 2)

There is a part of me that has felt comforted by obligatory confinement, and fears coming out.⠀
⠀
This part of me is deeply sensitive and is often not seen or heard in a world that rushes by so loudly, even aggressively. This part has often needed to create armour and masks to hide behind, to feel strong enough to go out. ⠀
⠀
This part fears being judged, rejected, betrayed, humiliated, and abandoned, if you don't like me or discover I am bad.⠀
⠀
This part does not find her truth in what is being said and done and considered 'normal' out there and can't find a place where she belongs.⠀
⠀
This part is scared of the insanity, anger, disrespect, competition, disempowerment, abuse, violence, and wars in the world 'out there'. ⠀
⠀
This part is totally overwhelmed by the inequity, poverty, hunger, slavery, pollution, loss of biodiversity, climate change, and diseases that we face as humanity.⠀
⠀
This part feels safe and comforted by the lockdown. Secretly, she is happy that all of you 'out there' are locked away in your homes. Secretly, she feels safer not having to go out and risk being seen. Secretly, she prefers that the big bad world is kept under control. ⠀
⠀
She only wants to come out when the world is a beautiful place of love and respect, and where she feels she belongs.⠀
⠀
In truth this sensitive part is afraid of feeling. She's afraid of feeling the pain of suffering, her own and others; of feeling grief, anger, and disgust, and worse, not being held or acknowledged in her feeling; of feeling helpless and hopeless. She's afraid to love too much and to lose those she loves. ⠀
⠀
This part needs to be acknowledged and loved and given a really big reassuring hug, every day. She needs to know that she is not alone and that her sensitivity is a beautiful gift.

She needs to feel her roots in the ground so that her heart can open and embrace the world. She needs to know that she will be caught when she falls. She needs to know that together we can feel more.

She needs to know that feeling is in fact the safest and most joyful path of all. ⠀
